Based on your questions, it sounds like you might not have a clear understanding of what 529 plans are or how they work.

If you make a withdrawal from a 529 savings plan for expenses at these schools, the withdrawals will be tax-free.
Also note that prepaid plans may have unique restrictions on what schools are eligible, and varying values for your savings by institution. There is also the Private College 529 Plan, which works a bit like a prepaid plan with participating institutions.
