I just signed up for it myself (autolinked when I signed up for a 529 Plan with USAA).
I can't see how something that's free is a rip-off, so I figured what the heck.
I noticed that lots of restaurants that I frequent here in San Diego are UPromise members. Between that and all of my other selfish purchases (like tons of online stuff from Barnes & Noble, etc.), I suppose it makes me feel a little less guilty about constantly treating myself (or I suppose rationalize my spending.)
But then again, I shouldn't feel too guilty... the 529 Plan I opened is for my nephews: I'm single/no kids.
When I signed up for UPromise, they didn't ask me to use their credit card or even sign up for it, just register and use my existing credit cards. Did I miss something... do I have to sign up for and use a UPromise credit card?
