Posts: 12 		I will be taking my first distribution this year from my 529 account. What exacly shows on the 1099? Does it show the whole amt distributed or just the amount that is considered earnings?

Posts: 2075 		It shows total distribution amount, basis portion, and earnings portion.

It is a 1099-Q:
Account and Fund #
Gross Distribution
Earnings
Basis
Recipient
Whether or not it is a trustee to trustee transfer
Whether it is a Qualified tuition program or a Coverdell ESA
Whether the recipient is or is not the beneficiary
Trustee's information
