These were ACH or some other kind of electronic transfers from your bank account to the 529 accounts? On what date was your bank account debited? If it was in 2019, than I don't see how you can claim 2018 deductions. Waiting until after 4 PM on December 31 to do this would almost guarantee that the transfers wouldn't happen until the next business day, at the earliest.
