Pazzy,
I don't know why I do this, sometimes its like beating a dead horse.
Here, non-the-less is my reply to you.
In an attempt to justify indexing you are asking me to include a higher sales load, and other expenses, blah blah, kind of like a "this can't be true scenario right" You even want taxes taken out (even though in 529 plans they are not.) Also, I'm not "touting" anything - just presenting my own personal beliefs.
FINE- Here are the results using a $20,000 inital investment, 5.75% load on the managed funds vs the INDEX (which has NO EXPENSES at all - which is something you can not buy but I'll give the INDEX the advantage). I used a 30% tax on dividends across the board and a 20% Cap Gains.
SP500 $464k
New Perspective $507k
ICA $538k
Amer Mut $419k
Wash Mut $485k
AMCAP $774k
GFA $1,026k
So 5 of the 6 beat the index rather than 6 of 6. Is this relevant - NOPE.
Again, I'm not sure why I do this. It is evident you are skeptical of alot of things. How relevant they are to your investing lifetime I'm not sure.
w.r.t. my statement on average returns - please do some of your own homework. You are again attempting to "beat" some other fund, or group of funds and I'm saying that is NOT what this is about. You should not try to "beat" anything - its a poor investment philosophy that has in fact no philosophy to it.
This thread puts an end to my replys to you, You can see my thoughts for what they are, or argue that they just can't be...
Make what you will of it, I wish you and your family the best. If you would like to talk further, please call me.
