Which Different college fund to use first

Hello, Newbie here. I have an ESA acct, 529 account and a "529" custodial account for my son. They were opened since he was 1 year old and now he will be going to college for the 2018-2019 year. My question is: Which account do I use first to pay for his college expenses? I am thinking of using up all the ESA account first then the 529 account then use the 529 Custodial account last. I am not sure though if this is the right sequence in using these funds. Any advise will be greatly appreciated. Thank ypu.

What is the age of legal majority in your state? I ask this because once your son reaches the age of majority, he will be entitled to assume full control of the 529 custodial account. This may impact your decision on when you use the funds in this account; i.e., is it best to use as much of the money as you can on qualified education expenses for your son before he gets control of the account and maybe uses the money for something else.

Thank you for your reply. I checked and it says NY age of majority for UTMA is 21. He will be 18 when he starts his freshman year so I guess I have some time to use all of it before he reach age of majority.
